Q&A
NOTE: Changing some of the settings, suggested below, might require Power User privileges.
Plan
Some machines are missing in Gantt chart
- If a line has multiple machines, but only one is seen in Gantt, check if
has_multiple_machines
is enabled in Plant settings - Is the
skip_gantt
setting enabled in Management-Lines?
Gantt/Planning table not showing insights correctly
- Check if insights are active for deliveries
- Are the
output_to_stock
settings correct?
I don’t see all orders on the planning table
- Set the number of weeks to be displayed. If the left pane is not visible, click “Advanced” button.
- There are 3 different horizons which affect the planing table. The first one fetches orders from SAP, and can be set by the Power user. The second one is set in the Advanced tab on the planning table and defines how many weeks will be displayed on the graphical chart. The third horizon is set from the Automatic scheduling dialog and defines what time frame should be optimized.
New orders are coming in LEAP already scheduled, but I want to see them unscheduled
- Set the
plan_import_new_orders_skip_sim
in linegroup settings to True. For this setting to be effective, theplan_import_scheduled_statuses
on Plant level must be set to True.
I enabled “Show history” in gantt chart, but it doesn’t show
gantt_past_weeks
parameter needs to be defined in Linegroup settings for this button to have an effect.
I can not manually schedule an order to start in shift 2 or 3.
- An order can be scheduled to start on the first open shift of the day. To schedule start in shift 2, close shift 1. To schedule start in shift 3, close shifts 1 and 2.
There is a production order for samples, which I don’t want to schedule or track its input/output material
- Turn on “ignore order”. See Plan - Orders and shifts
Production order is missing from planning table
- Is Ignore enabled for this order?
- Is the production line, where this order should be scheduled, visible in planning table?
I can’t see all production lines in a Linegroup on planning table
- If
automatic_scheduling
is enabled in this Linegroup (magic wand is enabled), only lines which are defined as bottlenecks will be shown.
I only want to use the magic wand on a few lines, and leave all others as they are
- Use the lines filter. Magic wand will only affect displayed lines.
I want to preserve the schedule on lines 1 and 2. How do I reschedule lines 3 and 4 automatically, without affecting 1 and 2?
- Select only lines 3 and 4 in the Lines filter in the left pane, and run Automatic scheduling. Production orders on all other lines will not move.
Why are SAP normatives used and not historical data
- Historical data is used when there are at least 5 finished orders available to collect data. However, if the normative is changed in SAP, the historical data is discarded and it will take another 5 orders to make historical data available.
Where does LEAP take the data for Weekly realization from?
- From MES.
People
A worker is scheduled on five shifts per week, but is already showing “too many shifts” alert
- Check the setting
reduced_worktime
. If the total shifts per week exceeds this setting, an alert will be shown. - Check if they have been scheduled at the end of the week before. If the Plant setting
week_start_shift_offset
is set, shifts before Monday will be taken into account.
There are no workers on the list on People tab
- Is there a separate Line-group designated for scheduling workers? Check in the Line-group drop-down list.
- Are any workers assigned to this Line-group at all?
Can I schedule a worker from one line-group to a line in another line-group?
- Yes. Only workers, who are assigned to the current line-group, will be shown in the left pane. But you can still find all workers of the same Plant via search box and schedule them on any production line.
I get the “No work” insight for a line, which is only used for placing absent workers (like Sick-leave or Personal-day-off)
- Enable the
insights_skip_no_work_in_shift
tag in the line settings
Stocks
Stock levels seem wrong
- Check if “Show only production locations” checkbox is selected. If yes, then stock locations, not designated as “production”, will not be taken into account. Also call-offs will not be taken into account.
- Check the time of the last data refresh. Maybe tha data is old.
I want to see stock level on a certain stock location, but I don’t want to include this location in stock forecasting and analyses
- Set
storage_site
= False andproduction_site
= False. See Management - Stock locations
I don’t want to see insights and stock analysis for a certain material
- Set
skip_stock_analisys
= True for this material. See Management - Materials. You will no longer see insights and stock forecast for it, but the stock level will be visible in Stock status view.
I can see a material is available in a stock location in Stock status view, but this quantity does not show in Stock forecast?
- This stock location might have both production_site and storage_site set to False. Set one of them to True. Explanation: When a stock location is first imported from BOM, both parameters are set to false. If the stock location was defined in blueprint, one of the parameters is by default True.
